Photograph of a postcard of Church Street dated Sep 24th 1926 on the back. The house on the right (now called Fordes), at that time belonged to Mr Ford. The sign over the door advertises his business as a decorator and glazier. Also was registrar of births, deaths and marriages until at least 1932. (ROP/001/005/001)

A rare wartime photo. Allen Legg & Reg Crockford, a young evacuee from Portsmouth with Major the next to last working carthorse in Ropley. The Crockford family were evacuated from Portchester to Ropley for the duration of the war to stay with Legg and Lawes families.
