Jane Anne Biddick was born in Ireland in about 1923. The census of 1851 says she was a schoolmistress who lived in South Street, Ropley.
The 1861 census says she lived in the Village School
In the 1871 census we find her as a schoolmistress in Perry School and House, Great Staughton, St Neots, Huntingdonshire & Cambridgeshire
In 1872, at the age of about 50, she married Peter Whitmee in St Neots. He was a widowed farmer. They were still together in the 1881 census.
